The first quarter of 2024 showcased interesting trends among the top 5 food and drink apps on the Android platform in the United Kingdom. Here, we break down the performance of each app in terms of weekly downloads and active users, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Too Good To Go: End Food Waste saw a significant fluctuation in weekly downloads. Starting the quarter with 21.4K downloads, the app peaked at 36.8K in the second week of January. Downloads then gradually declined to a low of 20.9K in early February before stabilizing around 24K–26K towards the end of the quarter. Active users also showed a steady increase, beginning at 350K and reaching approximately 408K by the end of March.

McDonald’s UK experienced consistent growth in weekly downloads. Starting the year with around 21.1K downloads, the app saw a peak of 35.3K in the last week of March. Active users mirrored this upward trend, starting at 492K and ending the quarter at around 536K.

KFC UKI – Order and Delivery faced a downward trend in weekly downloads. Beginning with 29K downloads in the first week of January, the app's downloads dropped to 10.6K by the last week of March. Active users followed a similar pattern, starting at 161K and decreasing to 128K by the end of the quarter.

Just Eat - Food Delivery showed stable weekly downloads throughout Q1 2024. The app started the quarter with 18.5K downloads, experiencing minor fluctuations and ending with 15.9K downloads. Active users, however, saw more significant changes, beginning at 574K and peaking at 578K in early February before settling at around 574K by the end of March.

Deliveroo: Food & Shopping exhibited a steady performance in downloads and active users. Weekly downloads started at 17.9K and saw a slight dip to 15.1K in early March, before rising again to 17.3K. Active users remained strong, beginning the quarter at 1.06M and ending it at 1.08M.
